Thank you to those who have emailed and left messages of encouragement for me regarding the new mountain biking site.
Over 600 stories were added today! We are still in the teething process and the date stamp for the items picked up yesterday's date rather than today's - a glitch that's been corrected. We are quickly finding that we will need a site search option and a way to rank events so that those local to you or most timely get viewed first. These fine tuning items will be taken care of as the site progresses, as will the archive.
Yesterday I spread the word to my local group of 50 riders and today I've left a message on my LinkedIn account for MTB enthusiasts (some 3000 in total) to make as many people aware of the site as possible. At present I'm focused on keeping it an information portal (possibly with some associated branding for certain sections) so that it becomes an easy-to-use and a pleasure to return to.
I'll be keeping a google analytic of the sites activity and let visitors see how many people are using the site on a daily basis.
